Instructions

Make sure all materials are clean and sterile. Preferably soak the syringes in a sterile solution. Prepare the food to be used and let the mixture cool to body temperature (38°C). Fill the feeding syringe with the wide nozzle with the food and squeeze gently to ensure that the food flows through properly. While feeding, it is useful to hold your pet in a towel to catch any spillage and to keep the animal more under control. Squeeze a little of the food from the feeding syringe and touch the tongue with it. This should feel like a teat and trigger a sucking reflex. Continue feeding the animal until it seems satisfied. If this does not seem to work, fill the narrow feeding syringe with food. Carefully place it in the animal's mouth and let a few drops fall into the cheek so that the animal swallows. Never squeeze too much food from the syringe at once, otherwise it can end up in the lungs. Repeat this feeding every 2 to 3 hours until the animal is strong enough to drink from a bottle.
